Changing the story for children in Bulawayo

For more than 20 years, Zara's Center has offered children a dependable place to learn, eat, play and belong.

What began as an urgent response became a lasting model of care.

Founded in 2007 in response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic, Zara's Center serves orphaned and vulnerable children in Emganwini Township, Bulawayo. Each year we serve 130+ children.

Our mission is to help young people ages 5–18 build the confidence, resilience and skills needed to lead healthy, self-sufficient lives. We combine school-fee support, tutoring, daily meals, healthcare, mental-health support, arts, agriculture, recreation and safe after-school supervision.

Zara's is more than a program. It is a consistent source of stability, belonging and opportunity.
