Changing the story for children in Bulawayo.

Founded in 2007 in response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic, Zara’s Center is a safe haven for orphaned and vulnerable children in Emganwini Township, Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. What began as a community response to the urgent needs of children affected by the epidemic has grown into a comprehensive after-school program that serves as a lifeline for over 130 at-risk youth.

Our mission is to help young people, ages 5 - 18, build the confidence, resilience, and skills needed to lead healthy, self-sufficient lives. Through a holistic model of care, Zara’s Center provides daily hot meals, academic support, mental health services, health interventions, arts education, vocational training, and safe after-school supervision..

Zara’s Center is more than a program — it’s a consistent source of stability and opportunity for children who need it most.
